LUCIEN ADRION (Strasbourg 1889 - 1953 Paris)

Lucien Adrion was a French painter, draftsman, and printmaker best-known for his depictions of the French countryside and beaches, as well as Parisian life.

Throughout his career, Adrion was invited to exhibit his work at Salons in Paris, where he was praised for his ability to capture rural and urban life.

After studies in Berlin during the First World War, he returned to France and moved to Paris, where he had his first major exhibition at the Salon des Indépendants in 1926.

Though living in the Normandy during the 1930ies and 40ies he travelled to England, Belgium, Germany and all over France.

During the german occupation of France Lucien Adrion belöonged to The Salon de Mai (the May Salon). This was a group of French artists which formed in a café on the Rue Dauphine in Paris in 1943.

He took part in many Parisian exhibitions with great success.
